Description

Wild cherry bark is known as an antitussive, antispasmodic, and mild sedative. Folk traditions have worked with the bark to calm dry, spasmodic, or irritated coughs, support bronchial relaxation, ease nervous tension that contributes to respiratory tightness, support digestion, and gently regulate the heart and nervous system during stress. It is traditionally prepared as syrups, tinctures, and decoctions under skilled formulation.

Wild cherry carries energetic medicine around soothing, containment, emotional calming, and restoring rhythm to breath and heart. It teaches gentleness in healing — calming the reflex rather than suppressing the system.

Wild cherry bark contains cyanogenic glycosides that can release cyanide if improperly prepared or overdosed. Only properly cured bark should ever be used. Avoid use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Individuals with liver disease, respiratory compromise, or those taking sedatives or respiratory medications should consult a qualified healthcare practitioner prior to use. Large doses may cause dizziness, headache, nausea, or respiratory suppression. Do not combine with alcohol or strong sedatives. Never use wilted or fresh bark internally.

Wild cherry teaches the medicine of precision — correct preparation and respectful dosing matter.
